Can Randall Regain His Form?

Once called the “Emilio Estevez of the Single Track”, Randall Scott’s long hours at the office have made his riding opportunities few and far between - and relegated him to the “John Larroquette of the Single Track”.
Randall’s summer quest is to regain his title, but his first two rides could very generously be described as auspicious. Betasso Preserve was where we decided to first crack the whip on this white-collar sweetheart.
Sweet Sam Mishkin had the honor of leading Randall on his first ride of the season. Betasso is a passive loop - a gorgeous melding of double and single tracks that ocassionally reveals the Hamlet of Boulder between the slicing foothills of the Rockies and offers riders the chance to build endurance without wrestling with anything too technical. This Trail should have been cat food for Randalls 2007 MKIII Team.
When I asked Sam how Randall’s first ride was, I received the following synopsis - which I thought was quite concise:
2 Vomits
2 Flats
1 Crash
1 Game of Chicken with a 4 year old girl on foot (Randall Lost and has the bloody arm to prove it)
(Nice Fake Smile, and yes, I photoshpped in his bicep)
I gave Randall a day of recovery before I took him for Betasso round 2.
This version went much smoother. We arrived at Betasso around 6am to avoid Randall having another ego struggle with any preschoolers. Our ride was void of any vomits, flats, crashes, or tests of manhood,
Next stop for Randall: Heil Ranch, a moderately difficult, but infinitely infuriating ride that is sure to test his resolve with endless mini rock gardens. We’ll keep you posted.
(Randall hoping people think Sweet Kate, Sam's Girl, is his)
