    St. Patrick's Day

Ah, St Patricks Day! For those of you not lucky enough to be there in person (check out the official link), There will be plenty of green beer, green clothes, and pinching going on stateside.
For us, St. Patricks Day bring a couple of symbolic milestones.
The first is the end of winter - no more night hikes in the snow, no more riding rollers for hours on end, and no more frost bite in areas that should be left unspoken.
The Second is the beggining of Spring - riding outside in the rain, heavy winds, learning about climbing all over again, panicing because your 1st race or big ride is alot closer than you want.

Ah the joys of spring riding...

RSCC has introduced QR westuits and bikes, just in time for spring! Come check out our latest offerings at

    Spring is Coming!!

The past weekend was a bit of a mixed bag for those of us in Boulder,
A group of us headed up to the local ski area, and we were met by some pretty harsh east coast ice sheets. The ice turned to sluch as the temps reached 40+ on the slope, so we decided to cut out early and head back to Boulder. Back in Boulder temps were above 60, so we broke out the MTB's and hit the trails for the first time this year.
The story can run on from here (lots of fun first ride issues), but lets just say that I am still getting used to the altitude.
Well Since the 1st day of spring is in 2 weeks, that means all winter excuses are off - no more putting off riding due to the weather!

Check out www.rscycle.com for spring training gear!

    SpringTime Training Inspiration

    Stephen Covey

Begin with the end in mind.

Stephen's not an athlete, but he makes a lot of $$ telling people how to be successful.
Every training session should have an end result, every training module should have an objective, and every training season should culminate to a single peak or goal. Remember this and you are sure to improve the effectiveness of time spent in the saddle or the gym .

Now I just need to spend more time in the saddle....

    Win These Wheels
    Mavic Crash & Burn Giveaway
    By Vernon Felton

Post a great crash photo and you could win a new Mavic Deetraks wheelset and MP3 warranty.

You’ve got a bike. You and your friends crash from time to time. Somebody has a camera…. By themselves, these facts are relatively unrewarding—put them together, however, and you could wind up with a new Mavic Deetraks wheelset and an MP3 wheelset warranty: a prize worth $377!

Here’s how it works. You send in your best photo of a horrendous mountain biking crash—and if we pick your photo as the best crash photo, we’ll award you with a shiny new set of Mavic Deetrak wheels and Mavic’s outstanding MP3 wheelset warranty.

HOW TO ENTER Go to the Vids/Pics button at the top of the BIKEMAG.com homepage and click it. See the link that says “Your Photos”? Just click that link, register to post photos and you’re good to go. Thousands of riders are doing it—it’s pretty simple.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR The winning photo should be a nice crash. That’s pretty straight forward. No science there. You’ve got till March 8th to post your best crash photos. No limits. Post as many different photos as you like. JPEGs are the name of the game as far as format goes and we’re going to give priority to horizontal shots because they fit way better on our website. But that’s about all the rules you need to know. So get posting. You could walk away with a new set of wheels.

WHUZZA MP3? MP3 stands for “Mavic Product Protection Policy”. It’s a two-year, no-questions-asked wheelset warranty that gives you the peace of mind to go out there and ride like the flaming idiot we all aspire to be. You can, by the way, purchase an MP3 warranty anytime you buy a new wheelset from an authorized Mavic dealer. Just sign up with your dealer, (the MP3 warranties costs you eight percent of the wheelset price), register with Mavic on-line, and your good to go.

If you do damage one of your wheels, you can take it to any Mavic dealer, they’lll return it to Mavic (you have to pay the shipping), and Mavic will repair it and send it back at no charge to you.

In the case of this contest, Mavic is giving the MP3 warranty away with the new wheelset. Bonus!

ABOUT DEETRAKS Deetraks is a new addition to the Mavic line. It’s basically the “little sister” of DeeMax. It has the same hub and robust nature as the Deemax, but features a more affordable rim. If you’re a fan of downhill and freeriding or you’re a Clydesdale who just punishes wheels, you’ve now got a more affordable wheelset option.
